ASTM 5120 GB 20CrMnTi is a carburized steel with good properties, high hardenability, and hard and wear-resistant surface and tough core after carburizing and quenching. The carburized steel is usually a low carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.17% - 0.24%. Transmission gears are mostly made of it in automobiles. It is medium hardenable carburized steel and medium Cr Mn Ti steel. Its hardenability is high. Under the condition of ensuring hardenability, it has high impact toughness at low temperature. 20CrMnTi steel for surface carburizing and hardening treatment. Good workability, small machining deformation and good fatigue resistance. The main uses are: for shafts, piston parts and various special parts of automobiles and airplanes.

Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure:
Heat treatment specifications: quenching: first 880 ºC, second 870 ºC, oil cooled; Tempering at 200 ºC, water-cooled and air-cooled;
Metallographic structure: tempered Martensite.
Delivery status: Delivered in heat treated (normalized, annealed, or high-temperature tempered) or non heat treated condition, and the delivery status should be specified in the contract.

20CrMnTi normalized
20CrMnTi normalizing, the isothermal normalizing process of 20CrMnTi steel after heating at 860 ºC for insulation and rapid cooling to 680 ºC for insulation and air cooling, and the high-temperature normalizing process of heating at 960 ºC for insulation and fog cooling. The differences and functions of the two processes are relatively different.
